Brothers, this is about as real as it gets for old west abandoned mining towns. This site speaks directly to our roots as Clampers and as a historical preservation society. Kirwin is a state-run park, and this will also be the site of our 6031 dedication.
This is a very remote location! No garbage service—pack out what you pack in. We are the first Clampers to use this National Forest Service site. Let’s leave it better than we found it.
- Dinner provided Saturday night. (Possibly breakfast Sunday and lunch Saturday, but plan to bring your own meals except for Saturday dinner.)
- Slippery on site! All leftover booze from Reach Around the Rockies!

Directions & Accommodations
Only dry camping at the clampsite.
Directions: From HWY 120 in Meeteetse, turn west at the gas station on HWY 290 toward Pitchfork Ranch & Sunshine Reservoir. Go 6.5 miles to Wood River Road and turn left (look for ECV sign and big red flag). Follow Wood River Road until it turns to gravel after the first bridge. Keep going, pass Wood River Campground (left), then Brown Mountain Campground (left). After about 21 miles from the highway, cross a small creek and cattle guard. Clampsite will be on your left before the river crossing.
